Work & The Strange

Taken by aaldere1 on 25th April, 2010 © 2010

Work always remains interesting. While the movie industry as a whole continues to suffer from box-office bombs (there are always exceptions of course), production never ceases to ebb and flow in a continuous state of 'why the hell are they making that again?'. It's controlled and most definitely pre-meditated, but still - most of the time you have to wonder how so much financial investment ever leaves the bank.

If I could take photos of exactly what I do, I'd generate a really interesting image collage.  However, taking photos of anything movie-related would not only be a legal risk, but stupid.  But there are some things I can capture - I'm sure of it.  How can I define my job through images - without really taking photos of the films they relate to?  The above image is one of those moments.  It was a long and physically tough day, and by the end of it, this image captured all of it.

Note: The garbage can itself seems to be from Japan - how it ended up in a warehouse parking log in North Hollywood would have been an interesting story.
